Owlypia Intellectuals’ Week (OIW)

Owlypia Intellectuals’ Week (OIW) is an exciting and interactive week full of activities which promote intellectual capacity and encourage students to improve their social and academic skills out of the classroom. It also provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers and families to connect, work together and learn from each other.

Students take four Owlypia Challenges throughout a two-day event. Through Owlypia Intellectuals’ Week students are encouraged to challenge their limits intellectually and given the power to tailor their learning experiences in ways that best suit their needs.

What Owlypia Intellectuals’ Week provides:

HOW OWLYPIA COMPETITION WORKS

General Guidelines

  • A group of three students form a team and work cooperatively to complete all the challenges successfully.
  • All students compete in team challenges in three age categories; Owlins (ages 9-11), Owlets (ages 12-14) and Owlys (ages 15-18).
  • All students register their teams online and prepare themselves for the challenges studying the recommended resources.
  • The study resources contain several movies and videos to watch, books and articles to read, topics to research, and questions to sharpen their knowledge.

Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd TEAMS and INDIVIDUALS in Owlins, Owlets and Owlys get a 25%, 20% and 15% discount* respectively for Owlypia Global Rounds.

*The discount cannot be combined with Owlypia Online prizes. In case a student gets both, the higher one is granted and it must be claimed in 30 days.

OWLYPIA LOCALS in NUMBERS

Young intellectuals are expected to select their favourite subject and focus on it. The study resources contain several films and videos to watch, alongside a range of books and articles to read. Some thought-provoking questions provided with each subject should be used to guide one’s research.
